LOcal AftermathAfter the eruption, there were earth tremors that occasionally continued until April 5th. For 5 days after the eruption, about 5 gigantic eruptions occurred. Those explosions caused columns of volcanic material being forced up to 13,000 feet in the sky. When the columns collapsed, they formed pyroclastic flows, enveloping clouds of hot ash pumice and rock. Over the three mile wide crater there was not one single blade of grass in the bowl. All the way around and up the crater there were large piles of rubble. There was zero trace of the lake that was supposed to be by the crater (Ames, 2017).

Following there was an upset in the climate, destroyed crops, a spark in disease. Many of the people who lived in the area went hungry. The pyroclastic flows killed almost the entire population of the Tambora providence. The casualties totaled over 10,000 After demolishing everything in their path. Another aftermath factor was the tsunamis The tsunamis caused devastation in the neighboring areas. The lighter ash and dust volcanic material caused light to not reach the earth in the area around Tambora. Not getting sunlight and falling ash that covered the ground killed off all vegetation. That caused disease and famine to Tambora and the surrounding areas. After the Tambora eruption there was an extremely cold spring and summer in 1816 (Ames, 2017).
